A Marlowe Quickpaw Mystery

The Shadow Over
the Silverbend

The lighthouse goes dark. A keeper disappears. And two unusual letters draw Riverpost’s smallest postman into its deepest mystery.

The First Riverpost Adventure

Something is wrong along the Silverbend

At dawn, Marlowe Quickpaw begins his mail route with two unusual deliveries in his satchel. One is a registered letter for Silas Vane, keeper of the Silverbend lighthouse. The other is addressed only to “The Scholar” in Room Four of the Willow Inn.

But the lighthouse has been going dark for exactly one hour after midnight, leaving fishing boats dangerously close to the rocks. When Marlowe arrives at the tower, the door hangs open, the assistant keeper is frightened, and Silas is nowhere to be seen.

A disc of dark red wax and an iron key shaped like a lantern lead Marlowe to his friend Wrenna Reed. Together they follow the clues through misty waterways, forgotten river history, and places where a small shadow can hide a very large secret.
